Emin Öz, the founding lawyer of Öz & Partners, was born in 1950 in Silifke district of Mersin. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1973 and started his own law office in Mersin in 1974.
Before and after the military coup on September 12, 1980, Emin Öz undertook the role of attorney in numerous political cases, being one of the lawyers defending Alparslan Türkeş after the coup.
In 1989, he was elected as a member of Mersin Provincial General Assembly. While continuing this duty, he was elected as the Mersin Provincial Chairman of the Motherland Party in 1993 and served in this position for 3 terms until 1999. In the 1999 general elections, he ran as an independent candidate for parliament from Mersin and demonstrated his political influence in the city by receiving a high number of votes.
In the following years, he served in the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) of the Motherland Party for 2 terms. Throughout his professional career, Lawyer Emin Öz has been actively involved in the economic and commercial world. In addition to his personal commercial activities, he served as the chairman of the board of directors for many commercial companies that play a significant role in Mersin's economic and commercial life, such as MESBAŞ (the company operating the Mersin Free Zone) and MERTAŞ (a company jointly established by professional chambers and NGOs such as MTSO, MESİAD, and the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry). He also held the position of Vice President of the Consultation Board of MESİAD (Mersin Industrialists and Businessmen Association). Emin Öz served on the board of directors of the Mersin Bar Association.
He also taught law courses at Mersin Vocational School of Maritime and Commerce for a period. Approaching his 50th year in professional life, Lawyer Emin Öz is fluent in English and French.
